Every year on Christmas Day, the attention of basketball fans turns to the slate of televised NBA games. NBA 2K wanted a low-lift way for their game to hijack some of that attention so we created a social activation called “Box Score Bingo.” It essentially allowed gamers to use NBA 2K23 to play the Christmas Day matchups and get rewarded for sharing scores on social that matched the real ones. As far as the prize goes, VC stands for virtual currency, which although you can earn it in-game, people use real money to load up on it, so this felt like a bit of a loophole for gambling, even though it wasn't!
